This is un-paid internship will involve mentorship and educational components so interns can gain industry experience and receive academic credit. We’ll be pitching to potential utility clients for a paid proof of concept. After vetting use cases across the utility landscape, I've identified potential clients and several problems to solve and will be seeking a Marketing Intern to join me and another technical cofounder.
We empower utility companies and their end customers with advanced analytics and payments to make smarter, cleaner, and more efficient decisions. From analyzing natural gas data to avoid leaks and leveraging water usage patterns to prevent droughts, Utilyze wants to help clients make utility data useful.
Utilyze was just accepted into Founder.University which is the pre-accelerator to Jason Calcanis' Launch.co fund in Austin, Texas. So you’ll be able to benefit from all of the hands-on educational and mentorship resources that we have access to through their program and network.
Responsibilities
Utilyze will work with utilities on journey mapping / customer experience transformation engagements at first to build out analytics capabilities, energy efficiency programs, and operational tools specific to client needs. Eventually, we can build more capabilities with out-of-the-box functionality.
Assist with marketing strategy and outreach for products like:
- Gas leak detection and energy efficiency modeling
- Water conservation and leak detection modeling
- Electrical outage visualizations and predictions
- Relationship between gas, water, and electric data
Assist with executing the end-to-end sales process for analytics products:
- Perform outreach via email, LinkedIn, and phone, and represent Utilyze at industry events to generate interest in our solutions
- Research utility companies and identifying qualified clients and relevant use cases for analytics solutions
- Help prepare pitch materials, product demos, and case studies to support early-stage sales conversations
- Track outreach effectiveness by channel and language using spreadsheets or CRM platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in B2B sales, customer outreach, or lead generation
- Familiarity with CRM tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, or Airtable
- Comfortable speaking with prospective clients and attending industry events or webinars
- Interest in climate tech, utilities, or data-driven solutions
