Students + Startups is a transformative 10-week PAID summer internship program that connects top talent with career-advancing opportunities in San Antonio, Texas. This initiative bridges the gap between hard-working college students and recent graduates and local startups and small businesses, offering impactful and meaningful internship experiences. For 2026, Students + Startups aims to connect 100 interns with local non-profits, small businesses, and startups, further expanding its reach and impact on the San Antonio business community.

Program Highlights

  • Duration: 10 weeks, from June 1 to August 7, 2026
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Orientation Days: Mandatory attendance on May 28-29, 2026
  • Diverse Opportunities: Open to all industries and majors
  • Compensation: Students receive a $6,000 stipend for the summer, in addition to subsidized housing and events for eligible candidates

Impressive Track Record

Since 2016, Students + Startups has successfully filled 657 positions at 182 San Antonio startups and small businesses, demonstrating its significant impact on the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Application Process

  • Applications will open by October 1, 2025 (free to apply, plus no commitment until you find a perfect fit)
  • Companies and intern candidates are vetted on a rolling basis
  • Applications close in early February
  • Candidates can secure internships as early as October 2025

Community Building

Though interns work at a variety of companies, Students + Startups provides opportunities for community building with the full cohort through subsidized housing and events. Additionally, every intern is assigned a direct supervisor at their host company, ensuring personalized guidance and support throughout the internship. 

Beyond the Summer

While the program focuses on summer internships, many companies offer the opportunity to extend the internship into the fall on a part-time basis, providing additional flexibility for students and businesses alike. By participating in Students + Startups, interns gain invaluable hands-on experience in San Antonio's vibrant startup ecosystem, while companies benefit from fresh perspectives and talented individuals who can contribute meaningfully to their growth and success.
