Summary/Objective:
This position reports directly to the Auxiliary & Support Services Manager. Oversees the operation of the housekeeping department on campus. Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Performs any combination of duties to maintain order, sanitation, and cleanliness in facilities. Maintains supplies.
Essential Functions:

1. Serves as the subject matter expert or organization resource in the housekeeping department
2. Supervises and/or directs the work of Housekeepers to provide a clean and safe working/living environment according to established RWS Housekeeping procedures.
3. Ensures staff cleans and maintains room surfaces, fixtures, and furniture; to include: floors, walls, windows, light fixtures, ceiling fans, bathroom showers, sinks, toilets, etc.
4. Ensures staff restocks restroom supplies
5. Ensures staff empties and cleans trash receptacles inside of buildings.
6. Develops individual cleaning schedules.’
7. Creates and maintains a high-performance environment characterized by positive leadership and strong team orientation.
8. Maintains professional behavior when completing tasks and interacting with others as a team member.
9. Approves staffs time and leave
10. Forecasts and assigns projects and/or deep cleaning assignments
11. Performs inspections of campus buildings.
12. Trains Housekeeping staff members.
13. Accumulates information for monthly reports.
14. Sits on interview panels for housekeeping positions.
15. Performs on-call duties and responds as needed.
16. Completes mid-year and yearly evaluations of all employees.
17. Completes requests for disciplinary actions
18. Maintains/orders supplies and maintains equipment.
19. Support the Housekeeping operations by performing Inspections, assisting with supply and equipment needs, and training of contract housekeeping staff.
20. Ensures staff observes required safety precautions in disposing of contaminated refuse.
21. Ensures staff understands and follow safety requirements when using cleaning chemicals.
22. Assist with training of students in a housekeeping worksite or students in the industrial housekeeping training program.
23. Other duties as assigned

Work Environment:
This job operates within a residential campus. This role occasionally uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones. This position requires some work outside for special cleaning projects like washing windows to exterior structures.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodations can be made available to qualified individuals upon request.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This position will require occasional weekend work. This position may occasionally require longer hours.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be requested to attend training specific to job or assistance is needed to support housekeeping at the Cave Spring Center campus.

Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of experience in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role in a related area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Housekeeper 3 (FES042) or position equivalent.
