Title: Designer (Parks & Recreation)

Salary: $32 - $35/hr (dependent upon experience)

Reports to: Project Manager and/or Department Manager

Location: Wall Township, NJ

 

Brief Description: Under minimal direction, serve as a designer for the Parks & Recreation Department in the planning, design, permitting and construction of various site, park, recreational and athletic facility projects. Candidates shall be knowledgeable in applicable local, county, state and federal rules, regulations and industry practices. Familiarity with public bidding procedures and Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 5:34) is preferred. Experience in performing site layout design and grading, stormwater management analysis and design, observation of construction activities and other related duties as required. Must have the ability to handle multiple project assignments in an orderly and timely fashion.

Examples of work/duties:

  • Under the direction of a project manager, performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specifications and plan preparation and construction observation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
  • Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization and projects.

Requirements (education, licensing, certifications, etc.): 

  • EIT preferred, or working toward New Jersey professional engineering license. 
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • 2+ Years of related experience.
  • Proficient in: 
  • Microsoft Office
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D
