Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Engineer to join our team in Columbus, GA. The Process Engineer will be responsible for implementing new capital equipment, optimizing production processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency on the shop floor. This role requires strong collaboration across engineering, operations, and quality functions to deliver world-class results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of new capital equipment from specification and ordering through delivery, installation, and release to production.
- Develop, build, and maintain shop floor work instructions including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process controls, and tooling requirements.
- Identify, develop, and implement process optimization and control methods to eliminate/prevent quality issues and reduce overall product costs.
- Support the rollout of the Standard Production System (SPS) by actively engaging in ANDON response, Tier Meetings, and Real Time Problem Resolution (RTPR) events.
- Apply CORE (previously ACE) Tools including Process Certification & Management, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, QCPC/Root-Cause Analysis, and Set-Up Reduction/Mistake-Proofing.
- Collaborate with hourly workforce, tool designers, quality assurance, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), systems designers, Information Systems, and program assembly partners.
- Provide leadership in eliminating EH&S, ergonomics, and human factor risks while addressing quality issues in production.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field).
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of LEAN, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Working knowledge of CORE/ACE tools or similar operational excellence frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with process controls, tooling, and production systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with EH&S and ergonomics standards in a manufacturing setting.
- US Citizenship required due to ITAR Restrictions
