Overview

The internship position with the Engineering Services Department is designed to support critical administrative functions and provide hands-on experience to a college student. The primary objective of this role is to assist in maintaining accurate retention records, support the administration of contracts and funds, and offer general administrative aid to the department. This position ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the Engineering Services Department by handling essential tasks that contribute to the overall management and organization of departmental activities.

Responsibilities

· Assists in organizing, maintaining, and updating retention records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

· Provides general administrative, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing correspondence

· Coordinates department activities, including organizing events and meetings

· Helps in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials needed

· Provides support with data entry tasks related to Engineering Projects and contracts

· Prepares, reviews, and manages contracts and financial documents

· Aids in maintaining accurate records of contracts and fund-related documentation

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

· Temp – Part-Time (Will work around school schedule) Monday-Friday

· Must be available to work additional hours as needed

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

· In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications

· Must be currently enrolled in college

· No prior experience required

Licenses and Certifications

Required

· A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring

· Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance

Basis of Rating 

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
