Haskell has an opening for a Sustainability Intern focused on the design and construction industry for Summer 2025. You will assist our multi-disciplined project team(s) with assigned tasks and will have many opportunities to grow and develop, both professionally and personally, throughout the Summer. You will participate in training programs and receive training in company management tools, standards, policies & procedures, during the assignment.  Additionally, there are fantastic opportunities to network with other interns across the enterprise during scheduled workshops, events and group projects focused on our culture and values.

 

This internship offers the opportunity to travel and meet with various teams/offices associated with Haskell.  We are looking to standardize our processes and approach to Sustainability across various markets and project-delivery systems.

 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Data collection and analysis around environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies.
  • Meet with both design and construction teams to understand and track the following:
    • Procurement of materials and types used on projects
    • Utilities used during construction
    • Construction methods use, from “traditional” to modular or volumetric
    • Waste management strategies
    • Future-proofing design
    • Health and safety for team members, clients and communities where we operate
  • Produce reports and organize information for internal standardization, as directed

 

Education/Experience:

  • Pursuing an accredited degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Design or Similar
  • Prior work and/or college project experience around sustainability or data analysis would be helpful

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in the principles of corporate sustainability and ESG
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Copy editing / proofing ability
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Willingness to participate in training and professional development opportunities
  • Willingness to travel

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

 

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
