Spiritual Community Director
SUMMARY:
In the spirit of the mission of Project Transformation, Community Directors are responsible for the planning, coordination, and facilitation of all activities related to intentional community, vocational discernment, and spiritual life of summer program young adults.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instill a nurturing, supportive environment for vocational discernment in the Young Adult Intentional Community by offering pastoral support and encouragement and engaging young adults in meaningful reflection as they experience the joys and challenges of the summer experience.
- Cultivate intentional Christ-centered community by: modeling servant leadership, prioritizing inclusiveness, and offering space for young adults to connect with each other.
- Create space for spiritual growth and development through dynamic worship, study, and conversation, incorporating diverse styles and experiences, engaging young adults in leadership, and inviting all to encounter God in new ways.
- Build and model a culture of hospitality and gratitude.
- Manage young adult housing operations by overseeing community chores, disseminating information, managing maintenance issues, shopping for groceries, addressing community needs, and engaging young adults in planning community events and activities.
- Work collaboratively with the other Community Directors and PT staff.
- Attend 1-day orientation and training and 2 monthly cohort calls with PT National staff for reflection and continuing education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Competitive applicants:
- are undergraduates, graduates, and/or seminarians who possess skills for ministry with college-age young adults,
- are highly motivated self-starters (ex. takes initiative, works to set and achieve personal goals and reevaluate personal goals as needed),
- display strong interpersonal and communication skills,
- are open-minded,
- have a desire to love and serve others,
- and are dedicated to living in community with others in a structured environment.
- Highly competitive applicants have theological training.
DETAILS:
Compensation Package: Full time living stipend at $6000 + housing + most meals
Dates: Mid-May 2025 – August 1, 2025 + a weekend retreat in April 2025
Locations: San Antonio and Greater Austin with occasional responsibilities in Corpus Christi and McAllen
