Position Overview: C1S is looking for ambitious and highly motivated construction management students to join our team as a summer intern. This internship provides real world, hands-on experience, working side-by-side with our construction project managers, superintendents, preconstruction team members and administrative personnel. You will be assigned a mentor to work with and will learn through observation and instruction.
A Typical Day/Job Responsibilities:
- Gain experience and understanding of plans and specifications. Keep job related documents updated and help monitor as-built record drawings.
- Assist project team with safety walks, reviews and/or corrections.
- Assist with basic project document control (i.e., procurement log, meeting minutes, field walk logs, quality logs, RFI logs, change order logs, etc.).
- Assist with basic estimating/bid preparation including quantity surveying, pricing, and proposal writing.
- Support construction team in coordination and interaction with engineering design team members.
- Assist with schedule creation, planning, sequencing, updates and modifications.
- Learn basics of Procore software.
- Gain understanding of Lean Principles
- Participate in team building activities
About You: (Your Expertise):
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent field.
- Have a basic understanding of construction concepts
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-motivated and eager to learn
- Able to commit to 8-10 weeks of full-time work
