As an Experience Research Intern you’ll be joining 7RESEARCH, a talented team of researchers under the 7-Eleven Digital UX organization. Our team supports every aspect of the 7-Eleven experience, helping to shape our Digital products and services for our store associates and US customers alike. Our team runs the 7RESEARCH Experience Lab at 7NEXT, our state-of-the-art R&D hub. You’ll have a chance to work with product managers, designers, developers, and other researchers on a variety of projects.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Contribute to strategic research initiatives while sharpening your user research, survey, and interviewing skills.
  • Grow the effectiveness of research operations and project logistics by directly supporting projects and documenting best practices.
  • Work on an independent project specifically crafted for this internship where you will scope, plan, execute, and create the artifacts with the guidance of your research mentor.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate, Masters, or PhD program in cognitive psychology, data science, design, human computer-interaction, MIS, social sciences, or related programs. 
  • An understanding of user-centered design methods and applications, and how research plays a part in the development process.
  • Ability to conduct independent primary and secondary research.
  • Experience creating journey maps, service blueprints, empathy maps and other user-centered artifacts.
  • Experience with segmentation, archetypes, personas, jobs-to-be-done, or other frameworks.
  • Proven ability to build consensus, work in cross-functional teams, and collaborate in fast paced environments.
  • Must be an effective communicator with strong story telling skills.
  • Familiarity with design and collaboration tools such as Adobe suite, Figma, Figjam, Lucidspark/Lucidchart, Miro, Mural, etc.
  • Familiarity with research tools such as Alchemer, dscout, Maze, MUIQ, Qualtrics, usertesting.com or similar platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Experience with usability testing and A/B testing.
  • Ability to synthesize research findings into actionable insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
