2025 Transit Management Internship Program
Transit Management Internship Program (Summer 2025)
The Transit Mobility program at Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) is working with the Texas Department of Transportation’s Public Transportation Division to organize the Summer 2025 Transit Management Internship Program. This will be the tenth year of the program, which originally began in support of the Transit Management focus area within the Certificate of Transportation Planning at Texas A&M University. The program seeks to connect graduate students with internship opportunities to gain professional experience in their interest areas in public transit.
We are concurrently reaching out to transit agencies around the state to identify possible summer transit internships for graduate students. We expect agencies to host paid internship positions lasting between 8-10 weeks from early May to early August. Exact start dates will be mutually agreed upon between the agency and the student intern. In previous years, students in the internship program worked on a variety of projects and tasks, including research and analysis, data modeling, service planning, community engagement, and all-around departmental work. The position types are determined by each agency, and TTI will identify potential fits for students to interview for positions based on their interests. Students will be supervised by a transit agency staff professional (e.g., a transit planner, operations manager, etc.) in the area of their internship. Roya Etminani at r-etminani@tti.tamu.edu and Jimmy Cardenas at j-cardenas@tti.tamu.edu from TTI will be available to address any questions or concerns throughout the internship period.
