Pastry Intern

We are currently seeking a passionate and motivated Pastry Intern to join our culinary team for the summer season. Position Overview:
As a Pastry Intern at Horseshoe Bay Resort, you will work alongside our experienced pastry chefs to create delectable desserts and pastries that delight our guests. This position offers a fantastic learning experience for students or aspiring pastry chefs who are eager to develop their skills in a high-volume, professional kitchen setting.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, following recipes and chef instructions.
Ensure all products are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality.
Help with inventory management, including stocking and organizing ingredients.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of the pastry station, ensuring cleanliness and proper food safety practices.
Contribute to the creation of seasonal menus and special event desserts.
Help in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment by following health and safety regulations.
Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to meet the needs of the resort’s dining venues.
Take part in special culinary projects and events as directed by the pastry team.
Requirements:
Current enrollment in or recent completion of a Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, or related program.
A passion for baking and pastry creation, with a strong desire to learn and grow in the field.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Ability to take direction and work as part of a team.
Flexibility and adaptability to the needs of the kitchen and the resort.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Previous pastry experience (internships or school-based) is a plus but not required.
