Secondary Agricultural Mechanics Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Agricultural Science Teacher to join our
high school agriculture program, specializing in Agricultural Mechanics. This
position is part of a collaborative, supportive team of four ag teachers. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in ag mechanics and a passion for
working with students both in the classroom and through hands-on learning
experiences.
Primary Responsibilities:
*Teach courses in Agricultural Mechanics and related pathways
*Supervise and support students exhibiting market steers and breeding heifers
*Coach the LDE Skills Team and CDE teams in Land Evaluation and
Homesite Evaluation
*Assist with chapter activities, fundraisers, and local, area, and state events
*Maintain accurate records in AET and support students in SAE development
*Participate in travel and overnight events such as stock shows, CDEs,
conventions, and camps
Preferred Qualifications:
*Strong background in ag mechanics (welding, construction, equipment operation,
etc.)
*Ability to manage a shop environment with an emphasis on safety and skill
development
*Experience with livestock exhibition, particularly cattle
*Strong organizational and communication skills
*CDL or willingness to obtain one is highly preferred, as driving duties are
shared among the ag staff
