We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Construction Technology Teacher to join our
Career & Technical Education (CTE) team at Stephenville High School. The ideal candidate
will have a strong background in construction, carpentry, and related trades, along with a
passion for teaching high school students through hands-on learning in a shop-based
environment. This is a classroom teaching position (no FFA or livestock responsibilities),
with the opportunity to participate in SkillsUSA and help develop a competitive construction
program.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Teach Construction Technology courses aligned to the CTE pathway, including basic and
advanced carpentry, safety, tool use, and residential construction
- Manage and maintain a safe and organized shop/lab environment
- Provide students with real-world, industry-based skills and certifications
- Develop lessons that incorporate construction math, blueprint reading, framing, and
finishing
- Guide students through project-based learning and team collaboration
- Encourage and support student involvement in SkillsUSA competitions and events
- Maintain student progress and records in accordance with school and CTE program
requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong background in construction (carpentry, framing, cabinetry, residential construction,
etc.)
- Ability to manage a lab/shop environment safely and efficiently
- Teaching certification in Trade & Industrial Education or ability to become certified
- Experience with SkillsUSA or other career-based student organizations is a plus
- Strong communication and classroom management skills

- 187-day contract (no summer responsibilities)
